Easy Snack

Boy are these suckers good! All you do is pop them in the microwave and nuke them for a minute or two! I also sometimes heat them up in some chicken stock, add a little soy sauce and grated ginger, and poof, you have a delicious soup and dumplings! This is a must have!

salsa

Ay Ya Yay!

This TJ's product is muy caliente! One of my favorite snacks is chips and salsa. I love it because it somehow seems healthy, even though I'm sure it's not.

This prepared salsa is one of the closest to authentic salsa I've ever tasted. But be careful because it definitely has a bite! Of course, you can always make your own RESTAURANT STYLE SALSA if you want!

Easy and Delicious Croissants

I've always wanted to make croissants from scratch. I never end up making them however, because there are far too many steps, and chilling periods, and rolling, etc. for my taste. I like that they are classic, and I like making things from scratch, but they are certainly not simple!

So I was delighted when a reader pointed me to these frozen chocolate croissants! These croissants are my new pick for my on-going Best of Trader Joe's Product series of posts. The croissants come frozen, and all you do is place them on a baking sheet the night before you plan on baking them, let them rise overnight, and bake them in the morning! They are flaky and delicious. Michael and I had them with scrambled eggs and coffee! Yum!

mirepoix

Mirepoix

I love making soup during the fall and winter. Soup meets my two criteria of cooking: Must be simple, and it must be classic. The only thing that sometimes prevents me from making it is chopping vegetables to make Mirepoix. I know, I'm lazy. But I really hate chopping.....but now I don't have too! Chop, that is.

More on Mirepoix after the jump...

Great Base For A Soup

Mirepoix is the classic combination of chopped carrots, onions, and celery. It is used as the base of many recipes, most often soups and sauces. Trader Joe's makes this pre-chopped combination and I completely love it! Making soup is even easier now. I used this product to make this super easy PEA SOUP and this delicious GREEN LENTILS WITH CARROTS AND THYME!
