Out To Lunch - Moby Dick's

By Danny

After our wonderful Cape Cod vacation ended, we drove up the Cape and into Boston to visit family. Before we arrived in Boston though, we stopped off the side of the road in Wellfleet to eat some more fresh seafood. Our road side stand of choice was Moby Dick's!

Check out more pics from our delicious lunch after the jump...

This place was classic New England road side seafood! Very casual. Very fresh. Very tasty! I've never been a huge seafood fan, but on this trip I forced myself to try everything, and boy am I glad I did! The fish and chips were delicious!

But by far my favorite was the shrimp cocktail...what I liked the best about this dish was that they served the shrimp ice cold...literally! Your paper plate comes with a nice helping of shrimp covered in ice cubes! I totally loved that!

All in all, the perfect way to end our Cape Cod vacation!

Out To Lunch - Tomato Pie

Since me and Michael are in the middle of a small bathroom renovation, we've been frequenting Baller hardware store in Silver Lake. This Saturday, having made our third trip that morning, we were itching for a quick delicious bite to eat when we noticed the small Tomato Pie sign across the street. Boy let me tell you, that 'zza was delicious! The crust is thin and crunchy..not too much sauce...not too little...just all around good. They stay open late and also deliver! Plus, you can get 'zza by the slice!

Out To Lunch: El Siete Mares

After a long morning of gardening I had the idea of grabbing a quick, delicious lunch. One of our favorite taquerias is the Siete Mares on Sunset Blvd in Silver Lake. We like this place because it's within walking distance from our house, but also the fish tacos are quite delicious! But on this particular day, I was craving their Ceviche.

It must have been the hot L.A sun that made me think of Ceviche...whatever the case, I'm glad we chose it. Ceviche is so refreshing on a hot summer day. The cold fish is "cooked" in lime and lemon juice, with tomatoes and other wonderful things, and you eat it on corn tostadas with hot sauce. MMMM, good! We took ours to-go and ate outdoors on the patio table...the perfect way to end the hot, summer morning!

Out to Lunch: Gus's Drive In

i had the BEST club sandi today! over at this place near my house that i always drive by. it's got the craziest sign - Gus's Drive In, Gourmet Fast Casual Restaurant - isn't that fabulous! that's really why i went there.anyway, i couldn't decide what to get. there were about a billion menu items. gus told me to try a combo plate, he suggested the chicken sourdough sandwich combo, but i went with the club.i always love the club! and gus made a good one! sometimes i like to take out the middle layer of bread because it can be too much, but at this place, the bread was so thin - the perfect width for three slices in one bite! anyway, i love the sign, and i love the place! and plus it was pretty packed with a good downtown lunch break crowd. HIGHLY recommended if you are heading West out of downtown on 3rd street and looking for a fast gourmet snack!!!

Out to Lunch: Langers

the other day, danny and i went to lunch at Langers Deli. this place is unbelievable! the number 19 is the most famous sandwich there, and it may be the best sandwich in town. the rye bread is super soft and fabulous, and with the slaw and the secret dressing, oh my!!! after that first bite, the sandwich party is ON!

i can only do the pastrami sometimes, usually i substitute turkey. it's just as much fun, only less of a commitment... take a look at this guy!!! soooo good!!!!!
